called to order at 9:01AM by Gordon Wagoner.

Minutes of
our Saturday, September 26, 2015 Business Meeting, Holiday Inn
Hotel & Conference Center – Virginia Beach, VA were read by
Secretary, Keith Otzen. Motion made to accept. Motion accepted.
OLD BUSINESS: None
COMMITTEE
REPORTS:
A). Treasurer’s
Report: Gordon Wagoner reported the current balance is
$10,900.00 and will add merchandise sold and dies taken in at
this year’s
reunion.
B). Audit
Report. Bob Bora, Chairman,
Gene Hawes and George Smith reported all was in order with
$10,900.00 in the Glacier account. Motion made to accept by
George Smith. Motion seconded by Ron Fischer.
C). Reunion
Committee. Peter Benac, Chairman, James Hicks, and Roland
Lacorte explained our ballot and presented the following reunion
sites for September/October, 2017 to be voted on by the
membership.
1). Portland, ME - 11 votes
2). Baltimore, MD - 6 votes
3). Buffalo, NY - 3 votes
Total in
attendance: 20 votes
Our 2019 biennial reunion will be held in Portland, Maine, which
received the majority of votes. Gordon Wagoner stated “we will
be looking for a reunion friendly hotel with the best affordable
price.”
NEW
BUSINESS:
A). Keith Otzen
contacted our Web Master, Ric Lobb, regarding an explanation if
we wish to keep our Web Site after the hosting expires on June
20. 2018. Gordon Wagoner read Ric’s explanation and what happens
after our Web Master retires and will no longer maintain the
site. Is it worth $200.00 to $250.00 in hosting fees to keep the
site up.
Motion made and
carried 10-3 to continue and to keep our site active. Gordon
Wagoner stated he has an IT person in mind that may be
interested in being our Web Master.
B). Bob Bora
wanted to know if we should open up our membership to the Coast
Guard and if any kind of survey has been done. Bob Bora made a
motion to research Glacier and Coast Guard to merge: motion
carried. Keith Maple wanted to know if the Coast Guard meets
every year or biennially like the Glacier does.
C). Gene Hawes
questioned because of our ages of 75-85 now, where are we going
with future membership?
D). Glacier
Memorabilia: Woody Benner, Historian, indicated all of our
memorabilia is stored in boxes. It was decided Woody and Vern
Johnson would ship all of our memorabilia to a museum in
Pascagoula, Mississippi where the Glacier was launched and
commissioned.
E). Gordon
Wagoner indicated our total attendance for this year’s reunion
was 44 people with 25 rooms per night (98 room nights).
F). Gordon
Wagoner recognized our plank owners and offered a moment of
silence for our deceased members and fallen heroes.
G). Voting of
new officers: Motion was made to accept the current officers for
the next two years. Motion carried.
