AHOY Shipmates!
Welcome to the spring newsletter.
We are only nine months away from our 2009 reunion in
Bloomington Minnesota and I must say that I am very
proud to be hosting it in my home state.
As of now I have been working with the Armed Forces
Reunion committee to make sure that your stay here will be a
memorable one. You will be receiving your travel packet
later this spring with all the information you will need to
have a great time here. I wish I could give you the exact
date that they will arrive, but it all depends on the armed
forces workload.
Our hotel has already been chosen, for those of you
that did not read the last newsletter the dates are
September 16-20 2009. The hotel is located fifteen minutes
from the airport with complimentary shuttle service to the
hotel and free parking. The rates are very reasonable and we
have a block of rooms reserved that over look the court yard
and pool area, a very nice setting, I’m sure you will like
it. I’m going to give you the name and telephone number of
the hotel at the end of this newsletter for those of you
that want to get your rooms reserved early, or you can wait
until your travel packet arrives. If you call the hotel make
sure you mention the USS Glacier reunion to get the special
rate of $96.00 for one night.
If you have not visited the Glacier website lately
there are some new pictures to view when the Mighty “G” was
in Greenland in 1959. Each month there will be six new
pictures added to the web site. Check them out!
If your address has changed or you know someone else
that has moved, please let Tom Ebnet our treasure know so we
can bring them up to date. (Tebnet7335@charter.net)

I
hope to see all of you this fall at the reunion. Please try
to make an effort to come and reminisce with your old
shipmates. If you have never been to one before, come and
see what your missing.
