Spring 2013

                      AHOY Shipmate!

					Welcome to the Glacier
spring newsletter. The first order of business is to
apologize to my shipmates who had their Glacier jacket order
returned to them unfilled. The company no longer wants to
fill orders one at a time. It was too time consuming to get
set up, just to fill one order. Have faith, for I have been
working with a local company to see if they can do our
jackets. If they can fill our orders this will work out much
better for us. They are located only a few miles from my
house. I will keep you posted on the progress.

					Enclosed is your reunion
packet for our get together in Providence, RI Oct 2-6. Make
sure you have everything filled out properly for the day
trips you would like to take. You will also need to do this
for your choice of meals. Enclosed is a hotel form to book
your reservations. If you would like, you can call the Crown
Plaza Hotel direct at (401) 732-6000 to reserve your room.
Make sure to mention the USS Glacier reunion meeting for the
					special price.
As you can see by our itinerary, we have a very busy
schedule to keep (especially for Friday the day we go to
Boston.) It will be a long day but I am sure it will be
worth going back to the homeport of the Mighty G. We will
also be going onboard the USS Constitution for a short tour.
Then it is off to Quincy Market and some lunch on our own.

For those of you who were
not at the last reunion, we decided not to have a buffet on
Friday night. Instead it was voted in at our business
meeting to have a pizza night. This way we can try something
different and also save some money for you. I think it will
go over quite well. We will have the pizza in our
					hospitality room.

					Our roster list keeps
getting shorter every year and the down-to-sea list longer.
How many more years we keep going is up to you and the rest
of our shipmates. As your president, I will be here to the
very end as long as you let me. The memories of the Glacier
must be passed on to our children and grandchildren so the
					legend lives on.

					I look forward to seeing
all of you this fall at the reunion. This year is special,
as it will be twenty years since the USS Glacier Association
had its first reunion in 1993. Please try to be there for
					this special occasion.

					Respectfully,

					Gordon Wagoner

					USS Glacier Association
